  k theres this girl at my school, i absolutely fell in love with her, i'm serious to, it's not just a fling....it's love, her eyes, her smile, her personality, i truely love her, and recently she told me she couldn't go out with me because of her religion,(jw), she crushed my heart, .

  now plzzzzz tell me.......when would she ever be allowed to date...cause this feeling for her will never die......i love her.

  why would i get a feeling as important as this, if it could never be

  With reasoning like this it’s not hard for me to believe that you were in a controlling cult. Terry be careful, your creating a following here that may not be easily dissolved.

  “1. Get yourself educated about the religion, and fast. But don't be openly critical to your girlfriend . Being openly critical of the Watchtower Society is the kiss of death.
  
  2. Prepare to spend from three to five years of intensive, intelligent effort to wean her from the society. If she be so willing. She may eventually choose the society over you. In fact, I think she already has.
  
  3. Don't think that introducing yourself to the family to show what a fine, upstanding young man will help. ANYONE not a Jehovah's Witness is considered bad assocation . They may be nice to your face, but notice how fast they hustle you out the door. Or, if they think they can't warn you off, how fast they recommend a book study. When you see a JW smile, think of a shark.

  I DO NOT RECOMMEND becoming a Jehovah's Witness to get the girl. You will be selling your soul and handing your balls in a little paper bag to the elders. If you don't believe me, read all of Buck's posts. He decided to convert for his girlfriend, and he is miserable.”

  For once I agree with jgnat. She gives some good advice with this post. Read it, read it over again, read it over again, and make sure you under stand it. Just to emphasize, I’ve highlighted what I feel are some of the more important issues involved.

  Dude, listen. If you really like this girl then I say go for it. It’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. If this girl feels anything for you at all then maybe you could be the catalyst that will free her from her chains. Make no mistake, this will not be easy. But look at the bright side, that which does not kill you will only make you stronger.

  1. were among the first to respond to the tsunami of 2004 and hurricane katrina with food, water, shelter, clothing, comfort, etc.

  and provided relief efforts to every person they came in contact with regardless of religious beliefs.. 2. point to jesus as the only source of true happiness in today's world of uncertainty.

  3. utilise 'worldly' holidays to focus attention on god's love for mankind.. 4. welcome you in no matter how many tattoos or body piercings you adorn your body with.. 5. pray for everything and at a moment's notice.

  What is a true Christian? In my mind Christian is merely a label to describe one who makes an effort to live by the teachings of Jesus Christ. What separates the “true” Christians from the not so “true”?

  I agree that by definition a true Christian must use Jesus Christ as their primary and only example of how to model their life.

  That must be why my local shopping mall is such a pleasant place to be from the end of November to December 25 th , huh?

  I do work with a self proclaimed “Christian” who sure does a lot of praying.

  Agreed.

  “8. Don't pass judgement on other sinners. They let God judge while they minister to people and exhort them to allow the Holy Spirit to lead them.”

  Who among us isn’t quick to pass judgement? After all why else would first impressions be so important?

  “9. Don't claim to have the 'only' truth from God's Word.”

  The same “Christian” I work with that prays a lot also claims to have the only truth from God’s word.

  “10. Promote moral values that mirror what the bible teaches.”

  Agreed.

  Did God ever grant what you asked for in prayer?

  i was an active witness, and i didn't feel as if god granted anything i asked for in prayers.

  i didn't ask anything out of the ordinary.

  since the witnesses say that they are god's followers and that he blesses them, i wonder in what way he blesses individuals when they pray?.

  IS SHUNNING BIBLE-BASED????

  my wife and i watch a movie last night, called "the truth".

  it was about an amish girl who got pregnant and had a child.

  anyway, she was ordered to be shunned by all members for her wrong doing, for six weeks.. this brings up the questions..... is shunning bible-based?.
